Deathcrush - July 27, 2011

"I have the same horror of evil as you do, but I do not share your hope." Citing the words of Albert Camus in his letter to Dominican monks, the Norwegian trio presents their world view clearly and soundly. Their lack of faith in goodness and salvation is expressed by women vocals, as well as noise and no-waive music. The gothic image reminding of camp horrors and their fantastic stage energy made them very popular in the northern area. All in all, the words of the French thinker have been repeatedly confirmed in the Norwegian traditions for many years.

Half a year after their first concert, the No Wave/Noise Rock trio were presented as one of the most anticipated acts booked for Scandinavian music convention by:Larm 2011 (Oslo, Norway). Less than a month later they were the first Norwegian band booked for South by Southwest in Austin, Texas. National Norwegian music show NRK Lydverket soon followed, including Deathcrush in their "Ten Acts to Look Out for in 2011".

The new year got a flying start when Sleigh Bells (US) spontaneously invited the trio on tour after Deathcrush supported them before a sold out Blå in Oslo. Around the same time award winning music paper The Stool Pigeon and online music bible The Quietus had chosen Deathcrush for their JaJaJa showcase in London.

The band caused a stir at by:Larm, amongst industry and concert-goers alike, serving Slottsfjell Festival one of their "greatest and most intense experiences" and making the Øya Festival declare Deathcrush their "new favorite band", booking them on the spot.
